Jun 4 at 5:21 | comment | added | Mo_ | True, that's the best outcome in theory. In practice, I was guided by my past experiences (when there was no SG) and the fact that it's (unfortuantely) not possible to "sent" a question to staging ground AFAIK

Jun 3 at 23:09 | comment | added | Karl Knechtel | "Only in the 1. case, I really would have liked the ability to comment early on (and a comment is actually the right action to take). " - well, no; the right action is to put the question in the Staging Ground, so that there is a dedicated place for comments that are about improving the question, that can get automatically wiped once the issues with the question are resolved. (Subsequent comments on a question in main Q&A should be fairly rare, and serve the same sort of purpose as those comments that endure on answers: putting a post into context, or pointing out related content.)
